Thanks to the power of 21st century technology and Google's ubiquity, the Compass bookclub blog has been set up in five minutes.

I thought it would be best to just get underway and tweak things as we go - so if you want to refine things or have any suggestions, let me know.

For December, we're hoping to get through:

• The theory of moral sentiments by Adam Smith
• The wealth of the nations by Adam Smith, and
• The communist manifesto by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels.

We'll start the conversation on this blog, but hope that it will spill over into other places to.
